Appointments

Call in to the surgery in person or ring during opening hours. We can usually offer an appointment within 24 hours, but not necessarily with a particular doctor although every reasonable effort will be made to satisfy preferences. Patients have a right to see a practitioner of their choice but may have to wait a while for an appointment.

If there are no appointments available and you think your ailment cannot wait until the next routine appointment, your details will be taken by the receptionist who will take your number and ask a clinician to contact you. Make sure you stay by the telephone!

If you need to speak to a doctor or nurse, the receptionist will take your telephone number for the doctor who may return your call.

Medical Students

The practice takes third year medical students throughout the year for six weeks at a time. Sometimes they will sit in with one of the GPs during their consultations to observe procedures. Patients are always advised beforehand if this is planned and are at liberty to decline if they would rather see the doctor alone.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. Anyone who fails to attend on two occasions with a GP or nurse will be sent a letter reminding them of the importance of not wasting appointments. If they miss another appointment they will be removed from the practice list, without further notification.
